The fact of the matter is life can get a little dull, and with the seemingly endless grind for more luxuries standing in front of me; I'd rather abandon it altogether. My name is Thomas Skinner, my wife Robyn Skinner and I have decided we want to improve our quality of life, by removing the luxuries of it. To begin a life of more meager means we have decided to hike the 2,189 Miles (about 3,500km) that make up the Appalachian Trail.
We believe that replacing modern society with sweat, bugs, hunger and aggressive chafing, will help us to grow closer to God (through His creation and meditation on His word therein), really get to know each other (by relying on each other for support in trying circumstances), and grow in ways unknown to even ourselves at the moment.
We will be documenting as much of this adventure as we can through video and journaling. We hope to give an account of real life in the woods, and encourage others to break the patterns of the everyday grind, and to start living.
